Nevada Republican Assembly Legislators Have Game Plan For Session Too
By: Doug Busselman, Executive Vice President
In a recent post we have shared the three-point agenda presented by the Democrats in the Nevada legislature. We wondered, asked and found out the concepts that the Assembly Republican caucus has in mind with their plans for 2009 Nevada Legislative Session.
Statement from the Republican Assembly Caucus regarding the Upcoming Legislative Session
The Republican Assembly Caucus is pleased that the Democratic legislative leadership has introduced their agenda for this session. We look forward to working with them in a bipartisan manner to find solutions to the economic challenges our state faces.
While many have focused on reestablishing the status quo and new taxes, our caucus has called for significant reform of the way our state does business. We believe it is imperative to address five specific areas during the upcoming session as outlined in the attached letter sent to legislative leadership last week.
These reforms include:
As representatives of half of Nevada’s registered voters and portions of every county, we recognize the great responsibility we have to the people of this state as public servants and stewards of the taxpayers’ money. We resolve to work toward a better, more efficient state government to provide the best possible return on Nevada’s tax dollars.
Given this outline of their action plans, the Assembly minority party’s activities can be evaluated with some context as debate and discussions unfold.
