Reform Of Budgeting Process Includes Setting Priorities

While the theme for the 2008 election cycle was "Change" the focus for the 2010 election must focus on building a grassroots network of citizens who are dedicated to changing the way our current elected officials look at our wallets.  It goes beyond saying "No" to more taxes...it requires gaining controls over the mindset of how government spending is considered.

Geoffrey Lawrence of the Nevada Policy Research Institute shared some of his ideas in the Reno Gazette Journal on how lawmakers in Carson City need to reconsider their approach to state spending.

From the on-going public discussion of these proposed concepts for change, campaigns for 2010 need to emphasize these values, unifying voters around fundamental improvements that have been demonstrated shortcomings in the way those currently in control of the state's legislative helm.
