Looking At The Numbers From The 2009 Nevada Legislature
By: Doug Busselman, Executive Vice President
It should come as no surprise the up is down and more is less. Our legislative leaders tell us that they “cut” the state budget and the amounts authorized for the coming two fiscal years have more money being spent than the fiscal year we’re in.
Reading a wrap-up news account I saw mention by the teachers’ union that educational funding for K-12 is less – even though the amounts approved by the Legislature are greater.
The bottom-line seems to be that those who want even more spending keep trying to convince us that spending more money is a decrease in state spending.
