Thank Goodness They Have Addressed That Critical Area Of Government Responsibility
By: Doug Busselman, Executive Vice President
For a country founded on the principles of individual freedom and open opportunities to pursue potential under the protection of a constitution which was drafted and ratified with a mind-set of limited government – we’ve come a long way. This is evidenced by this important news announcement where our federal government has now decided the rules for light bulbs.
How have we managed to survive as a world super-power without these critical constraints and standards? Perhaps more critical is the pending question of what will be the next great government edict to come from our enlightened leaders (elected as well as those who are not elected, but only serve to tell us more of what we should be doing).
I recently heard a commentator report that when some read Orwell’s “1984” and contemplated the reach of Big Brother – they shuddered and were afraid…those currently in power in Washington, D.C. took the book as an instructional manual for how government should operate.
