Going Down The Wrong Road – The Wrong Way And No Way Back
By: Doug Busselman, Executive Vice President
As is the case when you step off a cliff, there’s only one way you’ll be going – and there ain’t no coming back. Herein lies the really big problem with our elected officials in Washington D.C. doing what they are planning to do with the climate change legislation they seem intent on dumping on us. This news article highlights some of the reality that energy experts are uncovering as they dig into the volumes of pages involved in the House version of the legislation. Wouldn’t it have been nice if our elected representatives would have also read the bill…before voting?
For those of you who are in states with U.S. Senators who listen (or who might be more inclined to hear because of the 2010 election)…your strongest encouragement for a “No” vote is essential. Just extracting more concessions isn’t going to fix what is a terrible idea in the first place. Delays in getting the matter voted on would be fine, but the ultimate outcome has to be a total defeat of the legislation.
