Looking For Solutions In All The Wrong Places
By: Doug Busselman, Executive Vice President
As the bloom fades from the rose of our anointed leader we might want to ask ourselves the implied rhetorical question; why can’t we find somebody to take care of the things that we need done in Washington, D.C.? It would be my suggestion that the answer lies in the fact that things aren’t going to be solved by looking to Washington, D.C..
Although I doubt anyone would get elected on the platform of send me to Washington, D.C. and I’ll keep anything from happening – that probably is the ultimate solution…don’t do anything (good or bad) – just leave us all alone.
The federal government does have a responsibility to protect our borders (we know too well how good they are doing at that) and they have the other items that are spelled out in the Constitution (mostly in the form of “don’t you dare do this or that”)…but, otherwise we shouldn’t really expect them to be the center of anybody’s universe. If they have become that, the reason we can exist – that’s probably what is going wrong with everything.
We’re supposed to believe that we have a responsibility to pay taxes, because it takes money to do all the wonderful things that government does. If we didn’t have them doing all these wonderful things – we could actually keep our tax dollars and spend those dollars ourselves, probably not needing the wonderful things that government does for us. Naturally, self-responsibility requires each person to take responsibility and do for themselves. Those who don’t take this responsibility will have to figure out a new plan.
Not having to support the bureaucratic autarchy wouldn’t be such a bad thing to contend with for those of us who are under their thumbs, although it would mean that they would need to find honest work to support themselves.
