If You Think The Laws Stink – Wait Til You Get A Whiff Of The Regulations

By:  Doug Busselman, Executive Vice President

While the detail of what’s in black in white of the legislation going through Congress comes out (normally after the bills have been passed, since they don’t actually read before passing) is troubling enough, those who know about the way that things get done after the laws are passed really should be spreading the word about what we’re going to see happen.    In most cases (although it does depend on whether the bureaucracy involved wanted the outcome which happened – or not) the implementation of the law, through the regulation process takes on a live of its own.  Bureaucrats with their own agendas take the direction that they are given from the legislation and craft their own approach on what will happen.

For those who question whether the bureaucrats have an agenda, this article sheds some light on what happens when someone doesn’t sing appropriately from the Climate Change song-sheet of the Obama administration.  And remember, this is before we’ve got a law – if they actually get any authority, just imagine where the EPA storm-troopers might take that.

The best solution to avoiding bad regulations is to not bad laws.
