Do We Get Their Choices -- Or Will They Get Ours?
By: Doug Busselman, Executive Vice President
One of the questions we've been asking in conversations about the national health care plan that Congress is currently wrestling with as part of the "crisis-of-the-moment" approach for stampeding legislative outcomes in line with the President's agenda -- will members of Congress and federal workers also be covered by the same health care program that the rest of us will get? Based on this information piece we found in the Washington Post, perhaps our elected officials should be working at getting the rest of the country what they've got for health care plan options.
In our contacts with elected representatives, we should ask if the health plan they end up deciding on will include the President (and his family) as well as members of the U.S. Senate, U.S. House and all federal employees? Shouldn't they get to have things as good as we will?
