Remaking Agriculture A Priority For Some
By: Doug Busselman, Executive Vice President
Those with an agenda for reshaping the future of American agriculture appear to have willing supporters in the magazine business. As we read in this piece (“news” wasn’t used as a term for a reason) in Time, today’s farmers and ranchers need to contend with many more things than just weather, prices and other normal challenges.
While President Obama and his crew are fretting and fusing over what they believe to be misinformation on their efforts to transform our nation’s health care insurance system (and through this the health care industry as a whole) – advocates for a Norman Rockwell-style of agriculture or an agriculture without livestock (except for pets) are making some pretty good progress in confusing the public with their propaganda, presented as this article was.
For those inclined to not take the bashing of our very successful food production system can have their say in responding with letters regarding this opinion article, (that Time unfortunately cloaked as a news magazine cover story).
