Climate Change Bill Moving Back On The List Of Things To Do To Us
By: Doug Busselman, Executive Vice President
According to the reports coming from those running the U.S. Senate, the list of things they plan to do unto us is shaping up with Health Care on the docket first and pushing the tax-us-to-increase-energy-prices later into the fall. While the delay in the development of what we’re hearing will be called the Kerry-Boxer Climate Bill (named after the big government advocates of Senator John Kerry and Senator Barbara Boxer) is a welcome outcome, a Senate vote which results in the defeat of the legislation would be even better.
There is no place to compromise on this issue, in spite of the desire for those of the majority party to fashion something that appears to be workable while still seeking to accomplish the objective of weakening our economy in the name of taxing us into using less of the fuel we have available. No where are we seeing other countries moving to crash their economies In order to accomplish the same end, although they have no problem in supporting our leaders in the mission of destroying the American economy.
While citizens need to increase their e-mails, faxes, letters and phone calls to the offices of their elected representatives in Washington, D.C. on the subject of health insurance reform (since this appears to be the first topic that will be addressed when legislators return to Washington, D.C.), we must not let up on the work of voicing strong opposition to Senate passage of the energy tax legislation. As we see in information like this the effort to highlight the negative consequences of the U.S. Senate putting another nail into America’s economic coffin. There is simply no reason for an economy already in shambles to continue to take this type of abuse from those running our federal government.
Those elected officials who persist in this activity need to be held accountable for their actions, starting with the 2010 election.
