Points Of Concern Relating To Health Insurance Debate

By:  Doug Busselman, Executive Vice President

As Congress soon returns to Washington, D.C. to renew the legislative process on the idea of further expanding the federal government’s reach into all corners of our daily lives, boiling down the debate points to understandable bullets is a worthwhile activity.  The advantage of this piece by the Heritage Foundation is that not only are the areas of concern clearly stated – the alternatives for real reform are also identified.

After reviewing the Heritage Foundation information, we strongly urge your follow-up contacts with our representatives in Washington, D.C. to share your input.  Although it is uncertain on whether the members of the Nevada group in the nation’s capital are interested in learning what their constituents want, telling them is still a responsibility that we cannot shirk.

When looked at for a personal objective, the government plan may not seem very appealing but i haven't come across anything that is better for us as a nation. Taxes and the cost of health care will rise dramatically if we do not control the profit taking in the private insurance market. The current spending is so high that if the ones who can afford to buy insurance do buy it, the rest can get full coverage from the government without spending a single penny.
