So We Don’t Forget – Remember The U.S. Senate Still Plotting Against Us On Climate Change

By:  Doug Busselman, Executive Vice President

In the uproar that’s taking place with the U.S. Senate and U.S. House holding their behind-closed door meetings to decide the fate of our country’s health care, we need to remember that this isn’t the only area where our elected representatives are working to create greater government control.  U.S. Senators, who have in mind a tax plan to drive our energy costs beyond the means of affordability, are also diligently applying themselves to their multiple-purpose mission of greater federal government control…a weaker U.S. economy…and in general more citizen hardship which they can “help” work on.

Sending more letters to our U.S. Senators will likely only result in getting more of the same form letter that our state’s senior U.S. Senator (remember he’s up for election in 2010 and is spending lots of money to re-introduce himself to the state) has been sending out repeatedly all summer…referring to government agencies who have done some figuring and don’t think it’s going to cost very much (in their estimation) to force us to reduce our emissions of greenhouse gases.  Senator Reid’s letter tells us it will have minor economic impact and will be gradual.  He seeks to leave the impression that in the long-run it’s much cheaper than hurricanes, rising sea levels and all other pestilence connected to the myth of global climate change.

Those who promote the story of government needing to fix the climate change problem through the legislative actions being contemplated (along the lines of what the U.S. House already passed) don’t like dealing with anyone bringing up contrary information so it’s highly likely that you haven’t had this insight on the consequences.  In spite of the efforts of some (also interestingly connected to the same government seeking to shove their climate change down our throats) further details of the impact on agricultural producers continue to emerge.

Given the manner in which our elected representatives seem to not care much about what damage they do to our economy or have any consideration to the points of view of those who have elected them – the best approach appears to be to organize for November 2010 and un-elect those who believe that re-introducing themselves is more important than listening to the constituents they are supposed to represent.
