Less Government Would Be A Sound Course For Future
By: Doug Busselman, Executive Vice President
Without getting into complicated economic policy areas we need to recognize that when the private sector is doing well – people benefit from the prosperity. When government’s heavy burden is crushing the private sector’s ability to do well – we have what we’ve got now…a lot of people out of work and extremely difficult economic conditions.
When we read accounts like this it’s somewhat amusing to note that the propaganda ministers of big government are so obvious in blaming business for holding the economy back. They also seek to make us believe that if it weren’t for government’s benevolence in rampage spending, we’d really be in a world of hurt.
Wait a minute, you don’t suppose that business and the private sector are limited in their investing and conducting activity to grow the economy because government is doing all it can to destroy private initiative and opportunity?
Nevada Legislators approve nearly a Billion dollar tax burden, specifically increasing tax loads on employers on the basis of their wage payments – then wonder why our state’s unemployment figures continue to soar. You don’t suppose…?
When government spends money…first they have to take the money they are spending away from the private sector. Those who believe that government should have unlimited amounts of money to spend promote the philosophy that the private sector are the ones who aren’t meeting their obligations unless government is getting all that they want to spend.
Starting in January of 2010 we’re even going to have a special citizen vision group to bring greater clarity to the importance of Nevada sucking up more private sector resources. Through these visions regarding quality of life principles, which obviously can only be accomplished with unlimited Nevada government spending…well darn it all, I guess we’re going to have invent new tax sources.
Somehow (only through the un-election of those who make up the current majority) we need establish a clearer vision than what the Vision Taskforce is going to be able to come up with. The vision we need to clearly lock into the understanding for all to recognize – Less Government Would Be A Sound Course For Future.
