For Fellow Non-Believers In The Hoax Of Global Warming
By: Doug Busselman, Executive Vice President
As a non-believer in the hoax of global warming it was a welcome experience to attend the conference yesterday that was presented at the American Farm Bureau Federation 2010 annual meeting in Seattle. Christopher Horner, author of a couple of two widely acclaimed books on global warming, shared his background information on how scientists and politicians have worked together to cook the details to suit their purpose of forcing us into a government-controlled and taxed energy rationing system. Horner, a Senior Fellow of the Competitive Enterprise Institute, drew special attention to the revelations of Climategate and how this scandal is demonstrating the gory details of what happens to computer models when you select the information you want to use in order to arrive at the predetermined answer.
We’re not certain that the majority party in the U.S. Senate, lead by the U.S. Senator from Nevada who has his own agenda for using the hoax to advance higher energy costs, will find or deal-make to get enough votes, leading into an election, needed to pass the taxation scheme they are working on to save the planet. But it is certainly worth pulling out all the stops to fight valiantly against those working to force us into submission and willing acceptance of their centrally-planned, command-and-control world of Big Brother government.
The typical pattern for the true believers in the Global Warming cause is to dismiss the details of the facts that their science and models is founded on the political motivation to change the world while cashing the research checks that politicians send their way.
As a non-believer I understand that the climate changes – it gets warmer sometimes and it gets cooler sometimes. The history that we know of the world reminds us that there have been ice-ages and there have been times when it was actually warmer than the supposed crisis we are having right now.
As a non-believer I do not accept the notion that man has the ability to alter the climate of the planet – for good or for bad. As Horner pointed out in his presentation, the difference in the temperatures of the planet will not be altered whatsoever regardless of whether the U.S. government expands its taxing authority (using Global Warming as the excuse) – or not. The only real outcome, should the U.S. Senate finish the work that the U.S. House has already done to us – we will have bigger government…we will have a significantly greater tax burden…we will have higher energy prices in all forms…we will have an even worse economic condition…and we will be told that its progress -- for our own good.
If it wasn’t the government working to manipulate energy prices we’d be looking for a corporate suit to hang from a lamp-post….
As a non-believer I also agree with Mr. Horner that there needs to be a total halt in the advancement of the political agenda while a public investigation is conducted on the “science” of selecting what information goes into the computer models and the other aspects of how the numbers are being cooked to arrive at the “consensus” that now seems to be the foundation of science. Instead of that investigation being only peer review work, we might want to work to use a different system…it seems that scientists looking over the literature of other scientists might not be as objective as their holier-than-thou, superiority-of-thought-process gets us by way of honest results.
Those who want to herd us into their way of thinking don’t want to wait for this evaluation to cool the passion that their invented crisis is intended to accomplish.

Well, Doug, it's unfortunate you've chosen to be a mouthpiece for the oil companies. While the oil companies rake in billions in profit with no real reason behind the hike in their fuel prices, I haven't noticed any 'corporate suits' hanging from lamp posts. I have noticed an awful lot of American soldiers have been killed or permanently maimed fighting in the Middle East defending our access to Iraqi oilfields. American blood spilled for huge private corporate profits AND continued dependency on a region in a constant state of conflict? Unacceptable. Does the Federal Government have the right to formulate policies to wean us from our dependence on oil derived from regions where democracies are very few and radical Islam preaches hatred of America is the norm? Of Course. In spite of your 'disbelief' of global warming, disappearing glaciers that existed for tens of thousands of years, on which many people around the world depend for a source of fresh drinking water, are proof that global warming isn't merely an hypothesis, but fact. More evidence in the form of shrinking polar ice caps, and fewer incidents of heavy moisture winters in temperate zones are more proof. Additionally, science has temperature records beginning nearly at the start of the industrial revolution which show world temperatures are increasing. So, combine the national security issues that, by themselves are a very good reason for a policy shift, with environmental issues, and you have a very good reason for the nation to pursue 'green' policies and renewable energy.
