Strong Voter Turnout Needed To Defeat Tax Increase & Unseat Senator Reid

By:  Doug Busselman, Executive Vice President

Hopefully, Nevada voters are sick and tired of the efforts to tax our private sector into bankruptcy and also sick and tired of the Big Brother champions who manipulate their way to expanding our government’s intrusion into every corner of our lives.  If that’s the case, we would be well on our way of meeting the objectives that these folks might be worried about.

The real key to taking back control is building the grassroots network of voters engaged in supporting the overall movement to send a decisive message to elected officials – “If you’re going to try to keep forcing government down our throats…we’re sending you home.”  Defeating ballot questions and all other forms of tax grabs is also crucial.

During the past few Nevada Legislative sessions the majority party has clearly demonstrated that there is no limit to the amount of spending that will satisfy their desires.  In spite of a significantly ailing economy, in 2009 they voted for state spending increases and added another Billion worth of tax load on a private sector already struggling to survive.  The combination of un-electing the comrades of the Big Government Party and rejecting the tax increase initiative of their tax-eater supporters will be the one-two punch necessary to force a change in government direction that’s necessary.

Accomplishing these tasks will not be an automatic, easily done or foregone outcome.  Those committed to making it happen will need to work together with people they might not even know at this time.  With financial contributions and direct personal engagement, we all need to increase our efforts to turn-out the vote in favor of limited government and maximum opportunity for the private sector to recover.
