Who Was It That Passed The Bailout Programs?

By:  Doug Busselman, Executive Vice President

When the going gets tough – blame somebody else for things going poorly.  That seems to be the mantra of those in charge of the federal government.  Expanding their finger-pointing to more current culprits (although Bush is still the one who did it), legislators who worked out the deals and arrangements…then actually passed the legislation (and have been in charge of things since 2006) seem to not be the ones involved in the problems that came from the legislation they passed.  At least we’re supposed to believe that it isn’t their fault.

Ducking responsibility for anything that doesn’t go right and taking credit for the stuff you make up to suggest that things are going right – campaign 2010 is well underway.  I’m going to be curious to see whether the voters in November are going to be that easily fooled again, or if they might consider things in the same context that the Massachusetts voters did this past week, producing the same type of results.
