Doing What’s Right Is More Important Than Just Going Along

By: Doug Busselman Executive Vice President

If our elected leaders were all working to do the correct thing – we’d very much like them to work together in addressing our needs.  That doesn’t mean that they should all be working together to do what isn’t correct.  Establishing socialism and destroying our economy in the process ought not be the priority our elected leaders work together to accomplish.

In his State of the Union address, President Obama noted…
“Rather than fight the same tired battles that have dominated Washington for decades, it’s time to try something new,” he said. “Let’s invest in our people without leaving them a mountain of debt. Let’s meet our responsibility to the citizens who sent us here.  Let’s try common sense.”
Does that mean he is thinking there should be a change in the opposite direction his agenda and fellow party leaders have been promoting?  The “investing” that has been our experience over the past year goes well beyond a mountain – translating into an entire mountain range worth of debt.

Meeting "responsibilities" of proper limits of government would be outstanding!

As to that “common sense” thing…yeah that would be a great switch!  Let’s turn our attention to the writings of Friedrich Hayek and his insights on how central planning, command and control and socialism don’t work…

Given the need for bi-partisanship, which has been called for and identified as being the proper approach, we look forward to Senator Reid and Speaker Pelosi persuading their minions to meekly fall into line and advance the end of big government and un-sustainable spending.
