Part of The Repeal Work Necessary For The Massive Health Care Fiasco

By:  Doug Busselman, Executive Vice President

There is plenty of reasons for repealing a host of the provisions included by the majority ruling party in their health care fiasco legislation, crammed through the legislative process and now hanging like a guillotine over the heads of the private sector.  Although it is unlikely that those in power right now will reverse course and take us out of the mess they’ve got us headed for – there is at least one portion of the impending doom that could easily be fixed and not be labeled as being a negative for needy health care recipients.

Yes, Virginia – they put lots of stuff in legislation these days that don’t have anything to do with the stuff they are legislating about.  It has been a tool the current one-party system in Washington, D.C. has used in spite of their claims to tell us we were going to be getting transparency when they took the reins of power…yea, right.

The provisions that I’m speaking of pertain to the buried provisions of the health care bill to require business enterprises to file 1099 forms for business activities that they conduct with others, exceeding $600 per year.  As has been noted in this American Farm Bureau Federation news release , there are opportunities for Congress to take action to retract this burdensome paperwork provision.  Hopefully, by drawing attention to the matter, somebody running for re-election might think about taking the action and putting it up for a vote of those who would like to be our representatives in Washington, D.C. after November’s elections.

As in the case of these same folks deciding to not do anything about the tax increases their inaction will bring about on the re-institution of the taxes that were cut under the Bush Administration’s time in office – not fixing the impending 1099 requirements, appears to be just more of the same…an out of touch elitist group of rulers who deserve to be un-elected and replaced.
